Synopsis When a 21-year-old girl falls in love with a boy from an oppressed caste, her infuriated family believes that she is possessed by his love spell. They ruthlessly drag her to a distant village shaman to break the spell and erase all her memories of him until she forgets his face by performing witchcraft and sacrificing a rooster. The girl’s innocent future is now dictated by the violent misogynistic patriarchs and their regressive ideologies. This one-day travel exposes the dangerous influence of caste, religion and chauvinism on an average Indian family. Will the girl and the rooster survive this lunacy or will they be victims to their belief system?

His debut feature Koozhangal (Pebbles), made in 2021, was inspired by his personal life. The film had its world premiere at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and won the prestigious Tiger Award. It was also selected as India’s official entry for the Oscars 2022.

“In this film, Meena, a young woman in love with a man from a lower caste, faces familial disapproval rooted in societal norms. Taken to a shaman for "healing," her story unfolds within the complex layers of caste, tradition, and modernity in India. Marriage symbolizes familial union, often stifling individual desires. Meena's silence serves as a political act, questioning her fate and challenging societal norms without outright defiance. The film invites empathy and reflection on the intersection of personal feelings and cultural expectations, urging audiences to reconsider their perspectives."

1. Umum

• Alternativa Film Awards & Festival ‘24 adalah festival film gratis yang terbuka untuk umum.
• Pemesanan tiket wajib dilakukan melalui platform Artatix.id. Tiket tidak tersedia melalui cara lain.

2. Pemesanan Tiket

• Setiap pengguna dapat memesan tiket secara gratis melalui Artatix.id.
• Setiap pengguna dapat memesan satu tiket per sesi film yang dipilih, dan memesan kembali untuk sesi film lainnya.

3. Aturan Screening

• Pemesan tiket diharap hadir maksimal 15 menit sebelum acara. 
• Pintu teater akan ditutup 10 menit setelah screening dimulai. Penonton yang datang terlambat tidak akan diizinkan masuk untuk menjaga kenyamanan penonton lainnya.
• Dilarang merekam selama pemutaran berlangsung, baik dalam bentuk video maupun audio. Pelanggaran terhadap aturan ini akan dikenakan sanksi sesuai hukum yang berlaku.
• Makanan dan minuman dari luar tidak diperbolehkan. Panitia berhak meminta pengunjung untuk meninggalkan barang-barang yang tidak diizinkan di tempat penyimpanan yang telah disediakan.

• Tiket yang dipesan hanya berlaku untuk acara dan sesi film yang dipilih.
• Tiket harus dibawa dan ditunjukkan dalam bentuk digital dan ditukarkan dengan nomor kursi.

5. Perilaku dan Kepatuhan

• Selama acara berlangsung, peserta wajib mengikuti aturan yang berlaku di venue dan arahan dari panitia.
• Tindakan yang dianggap mengganggu, meresahkan, atau melanggar norma akan berakibat pada dikeluarkannya peserta dari venue tanpa toleransi.

1. General

The Alternativa Film Project is a free film festival open to the public.
Ticket reservations must be made through the platform Artatix.id. Tickets are not available through any other means.

2. Ticket Reservations

• Every user can reserve tickets for free through Artatix.id.
• Alternativa Film Project does not guarantee ticket availability until the time of the festival if tickets have already been fully booked.
• Each user is only allowed to reserve one ticket per selected film session, unless stated otherwise.

3. Screening Rules

• Ticket holders are expected to arrive no later than 15 minutes before the event.
• The theater doors will be closed 10 minutes after the screening starts. Latecomers will not be allowed to enter in order to ensure the comfort of other attendees.
• Recording during the screening (either video or audio) is strictly prohibited. Violations of this rule will result in legal penalties.
• Food and drinks from outside are not permitted. The organizers have the right to ask attendees to leave any prohibited items in the designated storage areas.

4. Ticket Use

• The reserved ticket is only valid for the event and film session selected.
• Tickets must be presented in digital form and exchanged for a seat number.

5. Behavior and Compliance

• During the event, attendees must follow the rules of the venue and the instructions from the organizers.
• Any disruptive, distressing, or norm-violating behavior may result in the attendee being removed from the venue without tolerance.

6. Privacy and Data Usage

• Personal information collected during the ticket reservation process will only be used for event management purposes and will not be shared with third parties without user consent.
